چکیده

Materials and methods The study group comprised 39 children (17 girls, 22 boys), aged 7.0 to 11.0, mean 8.8 ± 1.1, having the “twisted pelvis” defined as a combination of nutation of one iliac bone and contra-nutation of another iliac bone as well as an apparent shortness of one leg in supine position. The control group comprised 39 children (22 girls, 17 boys), aged 7.0 to 11.0, mean 9.0 ± 1.4. The groups were matched for age, height, weight and BMI. Digital photos of the trunk in standing habitual posture were performed twice: before and after manual therapy comprising single manipulation of the sacroiliac joints according to Ackermann. The control group had no therapy but just a 5-minute rest in sitting position between the two photos.

Background and Aim: Spinal manipulation is a treatment modality in the management of patients with pain in the neck, low back or pelvic disorders. The objective of this research was to determine the effects of sacroiliac joint manipulation on selected electrophysiological parameters including pressure pain thresholds (PPT) and Tibial nerve Hoffmann's reflex (H-reflex) amplitude. Prevalence of concomitant sacroiliac joint dysfunction in patients with image proven herniated lumbar discs

Abstract   Background: Sacroiliac joint (SIJ) dysfunction is a widely known but poorly defined   cause of low back pain. To our knowledge, few published studies have been   conducted to evaluate systematically the prevalence and significance of concomitant   sacroiliac joint dysfunction in patients with herniated lumbar discs. As concomitant   SIJ dysfunction in low back pain patients is like...

The Influence of Passive Sacroiliac Joint Mobilisation on Some Body Posture Parameters in the Sagittal Plane

The aim of this work was to analyse possible influence of passive sacroiliac joint mobilisation on body posture changes in the sagittal plane. Investigations embraced 900 children and young people aged 5–19 with symptoms of functional asymmetry of the pelvis. One evaluated the quality of body posture twice – alternately in habitual standing and during autoelongation in starting examination – an...

Manipulation Effect on Lumbar Kinematics in Patients with Unilateral Innominate Rotation and Comparison with Asymptomatic Subjects

Background: Lumbar motion analysis is used as a clinical method in the diagnosis and treatment of low back pain (LBP). So far, no studies have shown if manipulating the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) will change spinal kinematics. Objective: The main objectives of this study were to investigate the effects of SIJ manipulation on the lumbar kinematics in subjects with innominate rotation and to compare l...

STUDY DESIGN A roentgen stereophotogrammetric analysis study of patients with sacroiliac joint dysfunction. OBJECTIVES To investigate whether manipulation can influence the position between the ilium and the sacrum, and whether positional tests for the sacroiliac joint are valid. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA Sacroiliac joint dysfunction is a subject of controversy. The validity of different s...
